Our Storage Building

While it has been a little while since I have posted it has not been because we have been on vacation!

A while back I posted on how the Lord had blessed us with a new storage building for us to place several of our items in as we begin this journey on the farm. This building is very important to us as most of our belongings are stored in it!

Mid August a storm blew in and lightening struck the top of a very large Oak tree that was back behind the building and the top of the tree fell on top of our building.  This has been probably one of the most trying times for us in the faith, when you looked at the building it was almost decimated and to some believers it might have been the end of the world.

My wife's first response was: "What will we do?" My response was simple: "We will rebuild it"  Just because we may have trials in this life, it isn't the end of the world!

Back in the Garden of Eden Adam was given the task below and it very much applies to us today! Notice what it does and doesn't say concerning dominion. It doesn't say we take dominion over men! It does say we take dominion over the earth. There is a big difference. This is exactly what we did!

Genesis 1:26-28  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

After I came home from work I examined the damage and realized I would need some help in the task of taking dominion over this giant tree that had just fallen into our building. My dad came over to help but it was not enough as it was still pouring down rain and the wind was blowing everything around. I called my dear brother Stephen Ricks with "The Ricks Chick" farm in Angleton, Tx to come give us a hand, in which he did humbly responded and was at the farm very quickly! For the night all we could do was climb through the rubble and start cutting the tree out of the building and put a tarp on it for the night.

Galatians 6:2  Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

The next day I got up and went out and inspected everything and PRAISE BE TO GOD none of our personal belonging's were destroyed or even wet for that matter!! Over the next few weeks we were overwhelmed by the response from the church! The Lord sent us so much help that we had people come in shifts to help us in our rebuilding efforts. Were are very grateful for the families of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship of Missouri City, Tx. who responded very quickly to our requests for help!

Mark 12:29-31  And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

We have been blessed by the out pouring of God's faithful servants, who actually apply their faith!
